Innsbruck v StuSta

Innsbruck – 78

StuSta Dragons II – 5

10th October 2026 – Innsbruck returned home in style with a dominant win over StuSta.

For the 3rd game out of 3, RCI started quickly, the first 20 minutes saw the visitors hardly touch the ball and Innsbruck used this to provide 5 tries in the first 20 minutes of the match: Taine twice, Omar, Luci, and a first RCI try for Moritz put Innsbruck into a huge early advantage.

Once StuSta did get more of a foothold in the game it was arguably too late, but the next 20 minutes saw tough physical encounters on the narrow field, and nothing to trouble the scorers until Bailey crashed over from a maul play, and soon after Omar grabbed his 2nd before the break to make it 43-0 at the half.

The second half was a scrappy affair in the damp conditions, RCI touched down twice more after the break with a long range try from Full Jack and WW2 veteran Jer also scoring.

RCI then received a deserved yellow card which allowed StuSta their best period of the game, the full back scoring in the corner after a switch of play in the home side 22 to make it 57-5.

Three further tries and a lot of scrummaging followed as both teams emptied their benches – debutant Espo diving under the posts, along with Nesar and Bailey’s 2nd try.

Thanks to StuSta for coming down and of course to James for refereeing.

Next up for the Mountainboys is a trip to Nürnberg on 17th October, followed by a home game at Sieglanger against our Austrian compadres from Vorarlberg on 24th October.
