Sevens & Tournaments
Rugby 7s is another form of rugby for all to enjoy, with a different focus on skills and fitness than the traditional 15 a side Rugby, and traditionally “less physical” in terms of contact.
At our Innsbruck club, this is the main form of rugby for our women’s team and a secondary form of rugby which our men’s team play during the 15s off season.
The Women’s team plays within the Bavarian league throughout the season with many wins under their belts in recent years, and our men’s team plays both in the Bavarian league and the Austrian league.
For the men’s team, this is a fairly new venture, where the club has participated in for the past 2 years in both leagues, with the main objective of having fun and developing players and skills throughout the off season.
The men’s have had a decent start in our first year, reaching mid table in the German league and a lower ranking in the Austrian tournament, of which we took part in for the first time in many years.
Our second year has seen greater success, achieving once again a mid-table stand in the German league while missing most of our players and joining forces with another club.
However, in the Austrian league we managed to get cohesion and achieve a first-place tournament win at Traunsee, beating the Austrian champions in the final.
We expect to take part in both leagues once again in the 2027 season while building upon our recent success and develop our squad depth as well as enable new players to come through.
Our recent player squad for the 2026 summer season was as follows:
Lucian Acar, Soso Khutsishvili, Omar, Matteo Sandweg, Luis Reutner, Taine Scott, Simon Kapferer, Moritz Luze, Sebastian Bailey, Josh Roberts, Sadegh Pakdaman, Javad Maniat, Gabe d’Unienville, Nino Schier, Edo Morra, Leonard Kuhles, Aryeh Goldsmith.
